Before you get upset with me and call me a traitor or stop reading the article all together hear me out for a second. Although nobody has come up with any long term side effects of masturbation there are some short term side effects of masturbation that can sometimes be a problem.

Masturbation can desensitize you and make it more difficult for you to climax later on. If you masturbate too often you will definitely take longer to get off when having sex. In some cases it can make it close to impossible to have an orgasm while fooling around with someone else. To get over these side effects you simply have to stop masturbating for a few days. It might also help to start using a lube or a toy instead of your dry hand if that is what you are currently using. The closer you can get to a vagina the better off you will be when having sex.

After you masturbate your hard-on can also be affected. You may notice that you are not able to get as hard a little while after you have masturbated. If you already have a difficult time achieving an erection it is not advisable to masturbate any time before you plan on getting lucky. There is no point in making your task even more difficult and you don't want to run in to the problem where you can't get it up if you can help it.

Masturbation also has the negative effect of making many men and women alike guilty. Society has placed a negative stereotype of masturbating and because of this it takes an emotional toll on a lot of people who do it. Many women will make a man feel bad for doing it and he will try to hide it from them. This increases the level of guilt and can cause relationship problems down the line.

There are rare cases where masturbating too much can cause a hormone imbalance in your body that will make you see and feel some pretty crazy side effects. You can become very tired, get pelvic pain, or even have vision changes and hair loss. While these findings have not been proven to happen very often and they are not concrete it is something to keep in mind.
